Still Life Painting Workshop with Jeff Bowers
Where and When:
Sunday, March 19th from 1-5pm
Art by J Studio in Belmont , NC 1500 River Drive, Suite 256

Equipment and supplies:
Your favorite set up, paints (any medium,) brushes, palette knife, view finder
Canvas panels, stretched canvas, paper (any style or size you are comfortable with)
Four hour workshop:
1 hour demo
2 hour open paint with instruction
1 hour for critique/review and Q and A
What we will cover:
Working with a still life setup
How to arrange a still life, lighting , hard and soft edges plus more
Blocking
Two color (white and umber) basic block in, very fast pace, messy and exciting, no stress and lots of fun!
Drawing:
Using the viewfinder, weighted compositions, perspective lines, vanishing points plus more
Colors:
Mixing colors, matching natural colors, light and shadow keeping colors clean
Details
How much detail, where to place, when to stop
Finishing
Varnishing, what kind, how much to use, how long to let painting dry before varnish
